What about me?

I’m a small town girl living in the big world of design. After a few years of ridiculous instruction that seemed promising and logical at the time, I realized that there was no future for me in science. (what on earth was I thinking?!) So, like any rational 20- something would do, I blew off my chance to enter medical school, ran off with a boy, got married and applied to Design School; which seemed promising and logical at the time.

Thankfully for my mothers sake, everyone turned out ok! Twelve years later I now run and operate my own firm, AB HOME Interiors in Brentwood, TN. I have an interior design studio that features everything that I love. This blog is a way to connect with other bloggers who are as insane, and passionate about design as I am!

About Amanda and the company:

Her style is fresh, comfortable and relaxed. Since establishing her firm in 2005, Amanda has completed projects across the United States, establishing herself as a trusted designer for clients on both coasts. Her stylish designs, design company and blog have been featured in numerous publications including Nashville Home and Garden, At Home Tennesse, Greater Nashville House and Home, and The Brentwood Home magazine.

As a busy professional, Amanda appreciates spaces that are elegant but easy. Amanda’s straightforward nature and down-to-earth attitude makes her easy to work with. She loves designing homes for real people, including active families.

Amanda launched her design blog in 2008 to great acclaim, quickly garnering over 50,000 readers per month in over ten countries. Her industry tips, product favorites and how-to tutorials have earned her devoted readers and recognition on other industry-leading blogs.

In 2010, Amanda recognized a homeowner’s need to simplify the often difficult process of constructing a new home or renovating an existing one. In response, she launched a comprehensive service that works with homeowners from the planning stage through construction to a finished home. Homeowners are thrilled with the flexibility and ease of this a la carte system that allows them to tailor Amanda’s services to their needs. In 2011, Amanda revamped her popular online store to include informative classes that cater to the DIY market. She is currently restructuring her Designer Bootcamp which will enable her to nurture recent design graduates as they enter a competitive industry.
